Deaf in one Ear

I have rarely found any kind of article what so ever on people being deaf in one ear.

 So as far as I can tell I was born deaf in my right ear. I don't know any different, so I can't say this is a good thing because it has been a curse at times, and somewhat good. By good I mean its easy to have selective hearing if someone isn't standing to close. Plus there is plenty of funny things that have happened over the years.

I remember I had to be at least 3 maybe 4 and that was way back in 1994. We went into a doctors and they put me inside a room with some headphones on, and buttons, oh the buttons. I remember always lifting my head to the left side to hear things. I can go through a lot of pictures when I was younger and most of them my head is tilted to one side. Of course just now when I was looking through pictures on my Facebook I wasn't able to see any lol. I can also remember my grandma always putting the phone up to my right ear and I would always move it to the left. Then I barely remember all the things they did, whisper in the right side, try talking to me on the right side to see if i noticed. Just a few different things. I remember when I would talk to people in school, They would come to me on the right side and I would nod my head a lot and pretend like I heard what they said or yea, that is a word i used a lot. I remember this boy I liked, he asked if I hated him joking around and I said yeah all serious like. I feel dumb about some stuff like that now. Or when people are trying to spell something S often sounds like F. Think sounds like drink sometimes. Then you've got the nasty people that make fun of your hearing problems. I once had a person ask me if I was stupid or something. I can vouch in my favor that he had an accent and when there is a lot of back ground sound going its hard to block out on one or the other. And to top it off and as funny as it sounds, I cannot hardly ever tell where a sound is coming from. Its almost like a person is invisible and running around with the sound. My phone for example, I lost it in the couch a few weeks ago, I called it repeatedly as I walked around the entire house trying to find it. It is strange that I cannot pin point an area of the sound.

I hate driving though! I had a few friends that would constantly have the music up in my car. The sad thing was it wasn't even that loud. But when the sound of music is mixing with someone trying to talk I have to look over and read the lips and try to fill in the gabs of what words were just said. I have also repeated myself and asked what?, sorry what was that?, and huh? lol. And on to the selective hearing. I have to laugh at myself for this one. Sometimes I have purposely ignored people. Or if I am in a crowded place I have been blamed for just ignoring people, When that is not the case at all. So I do apologize if anyone reading this has thought I was ignoring them.

To top all of this off, I do have to thank plenty of people for all they for me. I had called my mom today to find out if i'm 90% deaf in my right ear because that is all i've ever thought was about 80-90%. And she tells me that I am 100% completely deaf in my ear. I quickly ended the call just telling her I had to go. Locked my work door and went into the bathroom and cried. I suppose I have gotten my hopes high on being able to hear. and just seeing how it feels to have surround sound, even though I don't have any clue what that is. I need to not get my hopes all up. But also I just keep hoping that when I was 3 and getting those tests that I just wasn't paying attention. If I was like any of the three year olds i've seen, they don't have a very long attention span, and I am hoping that I just pushed buttons and what not acting like I knew what was going on. I have a hearing test on Thursday. I am nervous and don't want to be alone. I know that If I am alone and the doctor tells me that there is nothing they can do, Or that I will need some thousands and thousands of dollar surgery. I just don't know if I could handle that. It scares me that Everything I have been hoping for, for the last oh 15 years isn't completely gone. I know it is better for me to know that now rather than later, and by later I mean less than a week. I made an appointment yesterday and I swear that is the only thing I can think about. I think I get more frustrated at myself because I can't fill in what I didn't hear.

Hunger Games

So... I am so in love with the book Hunger Games. I have been holding off buying the second because I would like to buy it in the real book. Yes I can buy it on my kindle but some books I would like to have the hard copy of! So my question is, How did a film about children fighting to the death in a post-apocalyptic world become such an international phenomenon? Because it is different from Vampires, and superheros! I think most or many of the actually good movies that came out this year and last were about vampires and superheros. I mean there were other good ones outside of action but this was a really good movie, and book. When Suzanne Collins' wrote the Hunger games books she only published 50,000 in 2008. Today its close to 37 million copies. Plus the extra in different countries along with the rest of the languages.

The part I like most in this book is when Katniss's sister Primrose is picked from the Reaping for the Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to take her place. Her hunting and archery skills are key assets to her in the Hunger Games. She has straight black hair, light gray eyes, olive-colored skin and usually wears her hair in a braid down her back.

The story has classical myths, ancient history and contemporary power politics. Just as they did in the Greek myth of Theseus and Minotaur, the fighters compete until only one is left alive, without a choice. The nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the 12 districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl from each, to make 24, between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. The victor then wins a new house for themselves and their families in their District, along with food, fame, and wealth.

Favorite Apps!

So I have a Kindle Fire, and I also have a Droid Incredible 2 Phone. I used to think that my phone was the world because you could play games and do so many awesome things.. Well then they brought the Kindle Fire with a bigger screen and you can read on it as well!!
Here are my favorites on my kindle
Netflix app is amazing on the kindle. I do have it on my phone but its not as great.
Email apps, They are both good on the phone and the kindle
Scanner radio is great on both
slotomania is addicting on the kindle. I played it for about two weeks and go bored. same with draw something.
My favorite on my kindle is called picsart, I am able to save pictures from facebook onto my kindle and go into this app and edit my photos. It is really fun. You can add effects, make collages and draw over the pictures.
Of course the facebook app. that is always fun to have.
therei s also this app called all recipes.com that i have on my phone and kindle. It is a fun app only for the spinner. But it makes it hard sometimes to choose!
and of course the Pinterest app, it actually takes you to the website on the kindle but formats it so you see the pictures bigger. On my phone I was one of the lucky few to get the app before they kept taking it off the market. Not sure why but it would appear on there off and on. I've had people ask me if and where I got it.

MACU app is a great app. They now have a way for you to scan/ take a picture your check and they will deposit it for you. Without walking into the bank and waiting in line! You can make payments on the app, check balances, and transfer funds. I think its time for me to go get a debit card and open a checking there :]
If you don't have Tango you should get it!! You can have video conversations, send video messages, send voice messages and texts. This works out great if you have a front view camera, because you can have a convo with some one face to face.
Soundhound is by far the coolest app, basically you can use it to figure out an artist of a song that your listening too. you tap the button, it listens then brings up the lyrics as it plays, keeps your songs archived and dated.
Gas buddy lets you know where and when the best gas prices are in town, I haven't had a lot of chance to use it since I live practically next door to a Maverik and a Premium.
If you have an Android device I found an app that is called ringdroid, you are able to make ringtones with it. it is very easy you just choose the area and play it till youve got the perfect clip for your ringtone or text tone. So much cheaper than buying new ringtones for .99 or 1.99 everytime.
The best part is All of the apps are free, Unless they changed since I got them!!
