Crazyville!

Seriously, that up there is an understatement... It has been crazy hell around my house. A few weeks ago I could smell something like sewer. I didn't think much of it because my whole town smelt like it. It was horrible. Some people said it was just thawing out, sending a stinky stench around town. Well one night it was raining outside and smelt so good. But when I came in it stunk inside my house. So of course I go running around checking to see if a drain somewhere had over flown. That is when I seen it. I went in the basement bathroom and there was sludge in the tub, and the toilet looked as though it had had something backup as well.

So I called a plumber... Worst 130.00 I had ever spent. He basically came, got up on the roof where the plumbing vent is. got back down and said that there wasn't anything he could do. I tried to talk to the plumbers boss, to say,  hey he wasn't here for an hour, he couldn't get the hose to go past a pipe. I don't think its right that I had to pay for him to be there for an hour, when he clearly wasn't. Anyways so after he tells me that, he says oh and by the way you don't have a clean out. You will need one of those put in if you want to get whatever clog out.

So of course this is the first issue I have even had. Then it was time for some internet research. I looked all over trying to just see if I had one. I mean I had a little money saved up. But not even sure of how much everything would cost. I ended up having to have someone bring a backhoe and tear up a spot close to the property line. To see if it was something with the city or something with us. They put the clean outs in and broke the wallet. Then comes some more bad news. They tell me that we have this orange pipe, that is made of tar, and clay basically. and that I will need to get that replaced soon. Everything was adding up so quickly. There was just so many things that I couldn't count! In the end it ended up being tree roots.

It was pretty frustrating but it doesn't end there! Next I find out that the water heater is leaking, and that will need to be replaced as well... Seriously. could things get any worse? Could things go any further down hill? In the end with everything there I spend close to 1000 in less than 3 days. I went ahead and bought a new water heater anyways. Just because I don't need some flooded mess coming soon.

Anyways besides that LITTLE mess, and I say little because it could have been a house fire, flood, tornado, earthquake, or tsunami. But the house is still standing strong. And now atleast that is out of the way. It could have been a million times worse. And sometimes it makes life easier when you think about how much worse it could be. Other than that everything is going great! :]

UPDATE: It was definately not tree roots! It was the pipe, it had collapsed. Then we had two others come and it finally got fixed.
